Establishment of a National Registry for People with Disabilities

This initiative targets the government promises to introduce a novel tool in the form of Central Registry that will help all Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) to address barriers and improve access and reasonable accommodation of PWDs to health care services and government employment programs. The creation of such registry will acknowledge the importance of a comprehensive and centralized data collection on PwDs, to inform meaningful planning and policy formulation. The register will ensure that the resources of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy are allocated for programs targeting PwD in a more targetted and tailored way. The Initiative will mobilize affected communities and other target groups to demand information from the relevant institutions on the achieved progress, demand accountability and in doing so explain the benefits and positive impact of such Register.
