Initiatives that have been implemented
‘The digital path to a better public administration’
This initiative aims to inform and raise awareness for the necessity of digitalization of the public administration in terms of increasing effectiveness.
The initiative will examine public opinion about the satisfaction of the work of public administration and also will use several tools for mobilization of the community as: social media campaign, video with administrative workers from the institutions that use the system, sharing their experience with it and how it affected their work, pamphlets that will lead to the social media accounts (QR codes). The activities within the initiative will be completed with a panel discussion about how information technology can help in the process of improving public administration.

‘Together for better future’
This 2I aims to inform and mobilize citizens regarding the Government measure for establishing a center for family care leave in the country.
Within the initiative a short survey will be conducted in order to determine how much the affected target group (people with disabilities and their families) is familiar with this measure. This will be followed by informative meetings with the target group, and interactive socializing with people with disabilities will also be organized.
In order for the initiative to reach more people, especially people from the target group, a short video will be recorded which will be distributed through social networks.

This 2I will introduce the benefits for young people by having the European Youth Card (EYC). Within the initiative, promotional mural will be created in order to promote the European Youth Card, as well as promotional brochures, pamphlets. Young people interested in the topic, will have chance to gather and discuss in person about the benefits of EYC.

Reconstruction
The purpose of this 2I is to present the activities of the Ministry of Culture and their consequences (positive outcomes or negative consequences), in relation to the measure of the Government program for rehabilitation, adaptation, reconstruction and construction of facilities used by national institutions in the field of culture.
The initiative will design, publish and promote phot strips; produce and publish a short film who will address the topic of benefits / consequences of realized / unrealized promises of this measure.

“Sharr-Our Natural Home”
The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness and knowledge about the importance of declaring part of Sharr Mountains as a National Park.
This measure is also part of the official Government program 2020-2024 and it will be addressed through info session / open discussion with officials from the Ministry of Environment, Ecology Activist, Officials from Municipalities, citizens.
The 2I will also organize horse riding in some parts of Sharr Mountains where environmentalists and biologists will share during the trip about the flora and fauna of Sharr Mountains. Also this event will be recorded and promoted on social media.

There are two objectives in this 2I. The first one is Increasing the level of awareness among the citizens on the 2021 Operational Plan. The second one is empowering the unemployed citizens, especially the youth, to proactively use the programs and measures stipulated with the Operational Plan.
Information gathered so far indicates that there is lack of information and awareness of citizens regarding the existing measures and programs. In that sense, to mobilize and raise the awareness of young people regarding this measure a series of activities will be implemented such as: info session(s) with the affected community members; video campaign / podcasts for promoting the measures for (self) employment; so called “Human Library”; and different promotion and visibility activities. It is hoped that this will lead to increased interest and engagement of citizens with regards to the given government promise.

This 2I is about the program for mandatory immunization of the population in the country for 2021
The first goal is raising awareness among the population about the importance of vaccines in the prevention of infectious diseases.
The second one is to reduce the impact of misinformation that may cause vaccination in the population.
“Get vaccinated!” is an 2I that will consist of several activities in order to achieve the above goals and draw attention to this topic. Routine immunization is essential, as is the need to gain public confidence in the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

Deficient studies in Macedonia
This 2I is focused on the brain drain in the country and weak interest among students to study deficient studies. Through research, the initiative will examine the reasons for the deficient studies in the higher education and the results will be shared on public event, as well as on the social media. The final results will be also presented on a national and local television. The results will be also visualized through short video which will also show the benefits of studying deficient studies.

Digital Embassies for the safety of nationals abroad
This 2I aims to inform the public about the impact of digitalization of Embassies in terms of provision of effective services to the nationals living/staying abroad.
The initiative will organize a round table discussion with relevant stakeholders, as well as with representatives of state institutions and other relevant bodies that are responsible for implementation of the given governmental promise.
After the round table and the conclusion of the key points, a media campaign of the initiative will be launched. For the sake of recognition, the initiative will have its own logo, will be advertised on some of the most read web portals, as well as paid ads on social media. In the meantime, during the media campaign, several educational and informative videos will be created about the initiative, the application and the available services of the application.

Woman, man or human?/I am a woman, not a number!
This 2I aims to inform and mobilize the community about the importance of gender equality.
The initiative includes sports activity – kayaking, rowing for gender equality.
This activity will be filmed, so that it could be further used to raise awareness of gender equality, that everyone can paddle no matter what they are and to which group they belong. Through the production of promotional materials and informative video, the initiative will reach more people who will hopefully start breaking gender stereotypes together.

This 2I aims to inform the community about the government promise/measure for restoration of the Aqueduct in Skopje. In that sense, to mobilize and raise the awareness of young people regarding this measure a series of activities will be implemented such as: creation of a comic for kids about what the aqueduct really is and what is its meaning today; creation of a logo with a message about the aqueduct which will be printed on a t-shirt that will be distributed to citizens in the main square; and final presentation with a famous architect who created a plan for restoration.
All activities within the initiative will be regularly shared on social media.

This 2I will introduce the changes in Law of Games of chance and entertainment games.
The purpose of this initiative is to mobilize the citizens to take action and ask the competent authorities to remove gambling facilities within a distance of 500 m from schools and religious facilities. The activities in the initiative will aim to inform the citizens about the promises given by the government program and also to raise the awareness of the negative impact gambling has on Struga’s youth.
Within the initiative, the team will organize meetings with parents, school leaders, psychologists and religious institutions, as targeted allies for the initiative.

Communal police, art and hygiene
The program of the Government states that the Government will introduce communal police under the competencies of the local government which will have legal powers to ensure order in our municipalities and the city of Skopje. This initiative will inform citizens about this Government promise and about the importance of its fulfillment. That will be done through organization of roundtable discussions with citizens as well as with relevant institutions and previously identified allies (Faculty of Security – Skopje). The initiative will also tackle another Government promise, i.e. increasing the number of environmental inspectors. Beside discussions, the initiatives also include organization of an art show/gallery of photographs of illegal landfills in the Radovis area that will be placed in front of the Cultural Center in Radovis, so that more citizens will be familiar with the problem and the promise of the Government.
The results will be published in the social media, as well as visualized through short video.
The aim of this 2I is through art (exhibition of photographs of illegal landfills) to indicate the need to fulfill the promises of the Government to double the number of environmental inspectors and establish a communal police.

Goal of this 2I is to inform the community about the responsibility of municipalities to open youth centers in the first 5 years of implementation of the law for youth participation and youth policies, and to inform about the opportunities that these centers will bring for youth.
As this measure is targeting mainly young people, the initiative will conduct a social media campaign on Tik Tok and Instagram with youth aged 14 to 18, and will also organize a panel discussion with municipality representatives, parents and young people. This will provide an opportunity for young people to share what kind of program they want to see in the youth centers. Their ideas and vision will be recorder in short animation video and shared with relevant officials, as well as with the general public via social media.

National conference - Opening of new centers "One spot for services"
The purpose of this initiative is to mobilize the community through public debates with regards to the importance of opening “One spot for services” centers in the country.
As part of the initiative, a national conference with relevant stakeholders, representatives from public institutions and experts will be organized, and through field visits in several municipalities, the government measure will be discussed with the citizens. The benefits of achieving this measure will be shown through an informative video that will be shared with the general public.

The aim of this 2I is to inform young people about the government measure that state administration bodies and municipalities are obliged to appoint a youth officer from among the employees, and also to inform about the obligations and the role of youth officers and how to utilize the opportunity of having youth representative in state administration bodies. As part of the initiative different tools and methods will be used in order to inform and mobilize the community, such as: short survey, informational video, info-picnic and promotional activities on summer festivals, camps, etc.

Open lists – my vote for my representative in parliament
This 2I will raise awareness and spark a discussion amongst the citizens about open lists and propose changes to the Electoral Code in that regard.
Through survey the initiative will examine the knowledge of citizens regarding the open list and their opinion of introduction of open lists for the following local elections. Additional discussions will be organized with MPs, political party youths, NGO’s, members of the working group within the Ministry of Justice, State Election Commission and they will be also invited to share more information about the concept of open lists on a public discussion. All activities within the initiative, including consolidated report from the survey and realized discussions/meetings will be promoted on social media.

Road to success for young scientists
This 2I aims to inform the community about the government measure and the need for increased support for the best students to participate in international Olympiads and competitions, as well as young talents to be recognized by institutions and the community.
This will be achieved by creating a short documentary with one of the young intellectuals, a public screening of the film and a post-film discussion with the audience on how young people can be most properly valued and rewarded.

The purpose of this 2I is inform the local community about the necessity reconstruction of the Crisis Management Center in Kumanovo and for creating a Training Center within.
Initial activity of this 2I will be production of videos and photos of the building so to record the current condition of the building. With the support of the society and various organizations, the initiative will also organize panel discussion and meetings with citizens to present and discuss about the topic.
By conducting street action, e.g. make signs and spread them around the city pointing to the direction of the building, the initiative will help citizens to be aware about the location of the Crisis Management Center.

Gender equality in sport
The purpose of this 2I will be the introduction of gender equality in the governing bodies (assembly, board of directors, supervisory board, etc.) of sports federations that are beneficiaries of funds from the Budget of the Republic of North Macedonia. The initiative refers to the government promise that in 2020 30%, and by 2023 50% in the governing bodies of sports federations will be women.
In that direction, through this initiative, the stakeholders will be mobilized and will be encouraged to ask the entities to introduce gender equality in the governing bodies.
With the realization of this initiative, the greatest benefit will have women athletes, and as one of the biggest ally would be the Agency for Youth and Sports which is responsible for the implementation of this measure.

Foreign Direct Investments in Macedonia: Dream or Reality?
This 2I aims to raise awareness about the importance of foreign direct investments (FDIs) for stimulating economic growth and prosperity in North Macedonia.
As part of the initiative, a poll will be conducted in order to find out how familiar the public is about the measure. Through animated video that will use simple infographics, this 2I will raise awareness about the importance of FDIs, show the trend of FDIs and analyze the current situation
Targeted groups within this initiative are: youth; Economic community (Economic chamber of Macedonia, Finance Think, etc.); Unemployed people (Federation of Trade Unions in Macedonia, Association of Unemployed – Macedonia, еtc.)

Strategy on inter-ethnic integration and citizens inclusion
The aim of this 2I is inform and mobilize the community on the issue of interethnic integration in the school system. The initiative consists of 4 main activities:
1. Survey of the affected community members in order to see if they are familiar with the measure in the Government program about implementation of the Strategy for Interethnic Integration and Civic Inclusion.
2. Round tables with teachers, parents and students (from different ethnic groups).
3. Educational workshop with teachers, parents and students (from different ethnic groups) with an expert on interethnic integration.
4. Preparation of video materials with recommendations from teachers, parents, students and representatives of the Mosque and the Church.

Government aid for social benefits
The purpose of this 2I is to inform and mobilize the affected community to utilize the measure regarding government aid for employers, which raised the wage up to 6,000 MKD.
Initiative includes setting up an information stand on the square in Gostivar where flyers with information about the measure and advertising material will be distributed.
In order to hear the opinion of both employees and employers, a conference will be organized, and the results of the whole initiative will be promoted through a short video.

This 2I aims to mobilize the local community and inform them about the importance of the process of adding/removing cultural monuments in Ohrid and Struga. The initiative includes design of posters with UNESCO’s recommendations which will be placed in different locations in both municipalities; organization of public discussion; as well as so called Little Montmartre in Ohrid and Struga where high school students will draw creative motives inspired by the natural and cultural beauties of the lakeside towns.

4F = Foster Family = Fair Family
This 2I has two-fold objectives 1) to monitor the implementation of the measure “Home for every child – increase of the allowance for foster families by 30%” from the Government Program; and 2) to increase public awareness about the foster families and the importance of every child having a home. Through discussions and interactions with foster families in Skopje, Krushevo, Makedonski Brod and Prilep the 2I will assess to what extent this government measure is implemented. The challenges of foster families and the importance of implementing this measure will be portrayed through video(s), infographics and other materials that will be shared with interested stakeholders and public in general.

Quality Education
This initiative is meant to closely follow the progress achieved in the process of renovating and rebuilding the infrastructure of middle schools located in Prilep. By using different tools and approaches such as Zoom meetings, participative discussions with affected stakeholders, photo exhibition in the city hall, this 2I will mobilize the community and spark their interest in following the progress in the implementation of the government promise. The initiative foresees development of media products (video, posters) aimed to raise the awareness about the importance of the good quality of education and the commitment of the country as a part of global efforts to improve the life of the citizens as reflected by the of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 4 on inclusive and equitable quality education.

“Macedonian Village " The Government will reform it into a" Start-up Village "
The objective of the 2I is to monitor the implementation of the Government project aimed to transform the “Macedonian Village” into a “Start-up Village”, which is meant to provide enabling environment for young entrepreneurs as “startup” community to launch and establish their businesses. By using different tools, the initiative will assess the level of awareness among relevant community about this government initiative. Through a variety of different forms of community engagement including panel discussions, guerrilla actions, press briefs, etc this 2I will contribute to acceleration of the implementation process and will increase public awareness.

“Macedonian Village " The Government will reform it into a" Start-up Village "
Establishment of a National Registry for People with Disabilities
This initiative targets the government promises to introduce a novel tool in the form of Central Registry that will help all Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) to address barriers and improve access and reasonable accommodation of PWDs to health care services and government employment programs. The creation of such registry will acknowledge the importance of a comprehensive and centralized data collection on PwDs, to inform meaningful planning and policy formulation. The register will ensure that the resources of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy are allocated for programs targeting PwD in a more targetted and tailored way. The Initiative will mobilize affected communities and other target groups to demand information from the relevant institutions on the achieved progress, demand accountability and in doing so explain the benefits and positive impact of such Register.

Raise of the paycheck from 20-30%
The focus of this initiative is the measure proposed in the Government Program to increase the average salary by 20-30% and the minimum wage by 20-40%. With this initiative discussions with the citizens will be organized about this promisse of the government to undertake salary increase and spark their interest to join the action and require responses from the relevant institutions about the promised increase. Alos the discussions with the representative of business community will be organized in order to understand their position about the increase taking into consideration difficult economic situation due to COID-19 pandemic. Several guerrilla actions will be implemented aimed to inform and remind the citizens about the increase in Kavadarci, Negotino, Rosoman and Demir Kapija.

Increase the awareness of young people about self-employment initiatives
The focus of this 2I is around mobilization of the affected community about the implementation of certain self-employment measures, as a part of the Government program/ Operational Plan for Active Labor Market Measures of the Employment Service Agency. Information gathered so far indicates that there is lack of information and awareness of young people up to 29 years old in the municipality of Struga regarding this measure. In that sense, to mobilize and raise the awareness of young people regarding this measure a series of activities will be implemented such as: online survey, workshop, info-graphics and promotional materials and similar. It is hoped that this will lead to increased interest and engagement of young people with regards to self-employment opportunities.

Research on preventive measures for the COVID – 19 and presentation of the results to the public
The 2I will assess the impact of the government efforts regarding prevention measures aimed to stop further spread of the COVID-19. More specifically, the proposed activities will gather public opinion and perceptions on “how the citizens deal with the preventive measures taken by the Government; how the situation with COVID was/is managed; whether the measures were adopted on time and whether the measures were sufficient or restrictive”. The findings and recommendations from the survey will be shared with the general public using various interactive forms. It is expected that this 2I will ‘inspire’ and encourage citizens to be more vocal about their opinions, take actions, demand transparency and accountability from the state institutions.

The objective of this 2I is to assess the level of implementation of two measures of the government (implemented by Employment Service Agency): a) “Payment of 3,000 MKD allowance per month for employed young people up to 23 years old who completed secondary education and who are working in production industry” and b) “Support to youth and women entrepreneurs with grants in amount of 5,000 to 15,000 euros for starting their own and new business”. The initiative entails a variety of community mobilization events such as: guerilla actions, posters, forums, T-shirts and similar, aimed to spark public awareness and interest about these measures and demand implementation by the involved institutions. The initiative’s activities will be realized in the municipalities of Gevgelija, Strumica and Bogdanci, within the Southeast development region.

MOJ DDV
The subject of this initiative is the effectiveness of the application “MOJ DDV” whereby the citizens can be refunded 15% of the paid value added tax. The Initiative will explore to which extent the citizens are informed about this application, if they use it and discuss about its effectiveness, positive and less positive aspects of the tax refund and possible ways for improvement. The community will be engaged through various events, meetings with specific groups, interactive workshops and presentations, and other forms of outreaching the community.

The 2I aims to mobilize local community around the following government promise “…during the 2020, Youth Cultural Centers will be opened in four municipalities”. This would also contribute to the realization of the recent legal changes from 14 January 2020, when the Youth Law was endorsed by the Parliament. The law foresees a Youth Cultural Center in each municipality in the country in the next five (5) years. The Initiative through online campaign, guerrilla actions and in person (or on-line) discussions will mobilize the affected communities, inform and debate about the government measure and demand accountability from the relevant institutions to fulfill the promises.

Beyond the borders
This 2I aims at mobilizing the community about the challenges, shortcomings and difficulties faced by youth population of North Macedonia and Greece because of the lack of cross-border cooperation. One of the commitments from the Prespa Agreement was to deepen the mutual cooperation both at diplomatic level and among civil cross-border cooperation. The Government Program addresses this commitment by planning to re-open the border crossing point “Markova Noga-Lemos” and opening of Regional Centers for Cooperation and Dialogue. Through a variety of community mobilization activities, the 2I will engage with young people living in bordering region and municipalities such as Strumica, Valandovo and Gevgelija to discuss common interests and challenges that youth faces and identify possible ways for cross-border cooperation.

National online learning platform initiative
The initiative aims to mobilize students about the use of the national online learning platform. Up to now, there seems to be no structured evidence about the challenges faced by the high school students, their families, teachers in using the national online learning platform. The initiative will identify key challenges and difficulties as well as possible ways to address them through meetings and consultations with students and Union of High School Students. Findings from the discussions will be compiled as recommendations for improvement and enhancement of the Platform. These proposals will be shared with relevant authorities, teachers and public in general.

Тhe lack of action by the competent institutions in preventing the illegal logging of mountain Jablanica/ Ѝ требаш на Јабланица
This 2I aims to monitor the measure of the government to ” lower the number of inspectorates in the country by almost a half and double the number of inspectors working on environment and market regulations”. This is necessary since existing institutional set up in Southwest region and municipality of Struga faces a lot of challenges regarding massive illegal logging of the mountain, deforestation, landslides and floods. The initiative aims to launch an online petition that would gather public support and request the government to expedite the implementation of this planned measure. Other community engagement activities are also foreseen to be implemented such as: social media campaign, guerilla actions, information-dissemination printed materials.

Opening of the School in Rechica
The subject of this initiative is construction of the Primary School in Recica, municipality of Tetovo. This activity is a part of the government program under education although it was part of the previous programe of the government (2016-2020) . Some construction activities have been launched two months before the parliamentary elections from July 2020 however so far there are no steps forward undertaken by the relevant authorities and all the works are stopped. The 2I will engage with local stakeholders (including parents, teachers, civil society, education authorities, etc) and raise their awareness about the given promise. This will be done through a variety of actions such as: social media campaign, guerilla actions, promotional video and interactive and inclusive discussions with different stakeholders.

This 2I will monitor and raise public awareness about the government measure “The ten-year allocation strategy and health care investments” and the progress in its implementation. The initiative foresees organization of inclusive public discussion forum aimed to facilitate interaction and exchange among the medical staff such as doctors, nurses, young doctors, medical students and gather their opinions about the aforementioned measure. The findings from this open discussion will be shared with relevant authorities to contribute in the decision making.

Open electoral lists…
The Government program foresees that the upcoming Electoral Code revision (planned by February 2020) will introduce open lists for the candidates for local elections planned to take place in October 2021. It is hoped that the direct election of the proposed candidates will achieve a greater connection of the elected officials with their fellow citizens, instead of a strong dependence only on political parties. The 2I foreses organization of meetings with the coordinators of the parliamentary groups in the parliament, representatives of Ministry of Justice, public figures, practitioners, civil society and other experts to gather their views on the topic. General public will also be informed through social media about the benefits and challenges related to a possible implementation of the open list.

Youth representation and social action in the municipality of Centar
The 2I will address the youth apathy and inertness when it comes to political participation and activism in the municipality of Centar. Its activities are designed towards improving the level of youth inclusion in the process of decision making on local level, better representation and active role of the youth in the work of the municipality. It will do this trough comprehensive research and quantitative and qualitative analysis coupled with workshop, resulting in a policy brief with recommendations which will be widely promoted through elaborate campaign and submitted to the municipal authorities and the party for consideration for its program for the local elections.

This 2I will be aimed towards improving and nurturing the quality of the activities for youth in the municipal institution for culture- Home of youth in Stip. It will assess the prospects for innovation of the activities for youth in Stip by determining the ongoing issues and weakness of the already existing culture Home. The initiative will include Qualitative and quantitative research methods; Comparative research methods as well as focus groups which will result in creating of Policy brief with recommendations and proposals and public promotion including meetings with the political party and presenting the ideas for inclusion in the program for the local elections.

Who hinders what?- implementation of the law against violence against women and domestic violence in Kumanovo
This 2I is aiming towards raising the awareness as well as successful implementation of the existing law on prevention and protection from violence against women in the municipality of Kumanovo. This initiative will include: desk research and analysis on ongoing laws regarding prevention from violence to women, analysis on public information from the Center for Social Work at the local level, comparative methods on existing successful postulates form other countries regarding violence towards women as well as focus groups with representatives from the civil society. The final result will be promotion of this idea trough marketing campaign as well as conference for the public presenting the solutions.

The 2I seeks to assess and identify key local problems that young people face in Skopje and raise the awareness about them. It will organize interviews with youth who have different backgrounds, careers, successes and challenges. Each interview will be presented in a form of short video that will be disseminated to general public and young people. The identified challenges will be shared with local administration and other stakeholders but also used for preparation of the local election program of the party.

Skate Land Kumanovo
This 2I is created to address the limited opportunities for young people for recreation and entertainment in the municipality of Kumanovo. It aims to improve the communication and volunteerism of the youth uniting them around a common cause –teamwork for upgrading the activities, identifying a location and creating a new space for everyday recreation and entertainment. The initiative will be implemented through quantitative and qualitative research methods, desk and comparative analysis as well as Interviews and focus groups, which will yield a result in the form of Policy brief, which will be given to the municipality as a ready-made solution, together with 3D visualization and videos. The 2I will seek wider public support through volunteer action for cleaning of the selected location and promotional activities and campaign in the media.

Aerodrom for young people
The Initiative will prepare an analytical study entitled “Municipality of Aerodrom for young people.” The study is aimed to identify key problems of youth, their expectations and disappointments so far. For the purpose of this initiative a survey will be conducted and then civic dialogue among citizens and municipal authorities to measure the level of satisfaction with the services at the local level, the degree of digitalization, the factors that affect their (in) ability to use digital services, their participation in the planning of the municipal budget and information on the implementation of the budget in the municipality. The findings and the recommendations for improvement from the comprehensive research are expected to be used for political party local election program.

The initiative aims to open the topic of continuous cooperation of persons with disabilities with political parties. The 2I will help establish a website accessible for people with disabilities and it will contain targeted information about: education, access to accurate data, communication, cooperation with persons with disabilities, etc. The website will be public and accessible for all but it will be also a part of the election campaign of the party for local elections 2021. The party will maintain the site after 2I and In this way it is hoped to inspire other political parties to be more open to persons with disabilities .

This 2I will contribute towards creating a culture of inclusiveness in municipality of Aerodrom, by creating and implementing joint proposals for inclusive local policies. The initiative will include focus groups with parents and personal assistants/teachers of people with disabilities which will identify local problems and possible solutions for the barriers of social inclusion, tools and policies to be implemented by the local administration, consolidated at a public discussion. The gathered information from all stakeholders will be compiled in a Policy brief and simulative brochure that will be presented to all stakeholders. In this way, the people with disabilities, their families, assistive and education personnel, the municipal authorities and the general public will have a model for inclusive and sustainable dialogue and the party will have a model for inclusion to be reflected in the party program in general and for the upcoming local elections.

How to advance cultural life in the Municipality of Saraj
The initiative addresses the lack of opportunities for cultural manifestations and explores the options and prospects for creating a common space for cultural events in the municipality of Saraj. The 2I will provide an inclusive platform for relevant stakeholders to discuss and contribute to defining desired solutions and benefits for the community in this area. With the support of an experienced facilitator, key stakeholders will work together to draft an Action Plan laying key milestone of a roadmap towards establishment of a Cultural Centre. Once finalized, the Action Plan will be presented to local authorities, decision makers and broader public (on local TV stations, social media) so it prepares the ground for a political offer for the upcoming local elections 2021.

This 2I initiative is created to address a long standing problem with the ignorance and negligence of the Kale fortress in Tetovo, one of the greatest cultural and historical sights of the city. With the goal to contribute to the promotion of public awareness for its importance, the 2I will try to identify solutions and financial instruments that can be used by the municipal authorities to save this object of culture from decay and turn it into a cultural and youth center. The mentioned goal will be achieved with implementation of variety of activities and research methods yielding concrete proposals, policy brief, 3D design and visualization and video promotion seeking public support and inclusion of this important issue in the party programs for the local elections.

For the purposes of this initiative, qualitative and quantitative research methods will be implemented to map the problems and the solutions for integrated approach to solving the long standing problems in one of the most polluted municipalities in the country. The result will be a strategic approach of all stakeholders toward prioritizing green policies and including this issue on top of the discussions in the light of the upcoming local elections.

This 2I will address the ongoing issues common with many of the other municipalities in North Macedonia, and that is the problem with stray dogs. For the purpose of this initiative a quantitative and qualitative research methods will be included in forms of interviews, desk research, comparative methods with other countries, regarding solutions to the same or similar ongoing issues. Ongoing online survey and focus groups will be implemented as part of the implementation process of the initiative, as well as public discussions regarding identification of sustainable solutions. The findings and the Policy brief from the initiative will be made available to the public and will be expected to be part of the party’s local election campaign.

This initiative will focus on straightening the equal opportunity as well as equal local access and systemic support for the target group. The findings in forms of proposals and Policy brief will be shared with the public and the party for building a position for the local elections program for City of Skopje.

Additionally, a Career fair will be organized for networking and a model for solution. This 2I will is focused on an ongoing infrastructure issue that locals from the municipality of Sopiste are experiencing in their everyday life. In order to address this vital issue for the residents of two villages from Sopiste, this initiative will include: technical assessment, research and analysis, mapping of financial instruments and solutions stemming from focus group discussions with the residents of the two villages and individual interviews with representatives from the municipality/government agencies concerned. The initiative is expected to yield a ready-made solution and policy brief with recommendation which will be shared with the stakeholders, but also the party in order to be reflected in the election program for the local elections.

The 2I addresses the limited opportunities and mechanisms for youth participation in the municipality of Krusevo. It will expose the lack of opportunities for young people to participate in the decision making processes and the low level of social inclusion. Its implementation process will include networking and cooperation for increasing the social cohesion and activism, young people working together to design catalogue with specific project proposals which they will present to the municipal authorities, youth policies designed by the youth trough process of consultations and workshops and increased activism towards lobbying for its inclusion in the electoral program of the candidate for mayor of Krusevo.

This 2I will and address the ongoing issue with the lack of youth strategy and the insufficient involvement of young people in creating public policies in the municipality of Ohrid. In order to specify the issues, problems and challenges that young people in Ohrid are facing, a quantitative research method in the form of a telephone survey will be implemented. Following the survey, semi-structured interviews will be organized with different stakeholders, youth and CSOs, representatives from the municipality and workshop will be organized to provide youth with a space for creation of Proposal for youth strategy. The Proposal, accompanied by the Policy brief for youth policies will be publicly announced and presented and submitted to the party to incorporate it in the program and campaign for the local elections.

Being a university and academic city and having it foreseen in its legal framework, Ohrid would benefit from this 2I aiming towards social inclusion of young people. Quantitative and qualitative research methods will be implemented as well as video interviews with for young people from 19 to 29 years old. A Policy Brief as well as 3D design of the proposed Hub will be created as a result of the gathered and analyzed data from the research. The findings will be shared with the public and the party towards including it in the program for the upcoming local elections.

These actions are expected to contribute to better living conditions of the citizens in the city of Skopje, but it will also indirectly respond to bigger environmental problems such as global warming and climate change.

Due to insufficient urban culture elements, a skate park is pointed out as one of the solutions for the municipality of Chair. For the purpose of this initiative a survey will be implemented as well as an Interview with: a young skater about the benefits of having a skate park; a representative of a municipality that has already invested in a skate park (eg Karpos, Center), about the satisfaction of citizens, especially young people with the existence of a skate park, as well as an assessment of the required financial investment and technical specification. The findings and recommendations will be shared with the public in forms of visualization and promotion and will be submitted to the party for the program for local elections.

This 2I corresponds to the identified need for establishing a Youth Center in the municipality of Zelino. The initiative will examine the views of citizens (through research and analysis) on the need for such a center and will facilitate the creation of a working group of stakeholders to develop a document on the need for a Youth Center, its key functions and content / program that the Center would could offer them. Once the document is drafted, it will be further promoted and discussed with the general public through an open debate. An informative video will be made about the whole initiative for establishing a youth center. The video will be distributed to local TV stations and on social media and will raise public awareness and respond to needs.

This 2I aims towards pointing the need to sustain and preserve the river bed in order to address the problem with environmental pollution and health hazards for the citizens of municipality of Lipkovo. For the purpose of this initiative a methodological approach for data collection will be implemented through pollution situation analysis, identification of critical points, cooperating with experts in the specified fields and conducting interviews and meetings with the local administration. The identified challenges and solutions will be shared with local administration and other stakeholders but also used for preparation of the local election program of the party. Presentation of the research and initiative results before stakeholders is envisaged, as well as a wider public support for the initiative trough campaign, videos and volunteer action for cleaning the river bed in selected points.

Based on the findings, the 2I will assist in development of a policy brief for economic empowerment of rural women. The results of the brief will be used for election program of the party for local election and beyond.

This 2I will explore the feasibility for establishing a Youth IT Center. The objective of the center is to create a favorable ecosystem for young people economic independence. The purpose of Youth IT Centers would be to promote IT studies and help youth build IT skills, while helping them come up and develop innovative ideas. The 2I will conduct a research with young people about their opinions on what is needed to be provided by the Center. Also, the initiative will support development of a comparative analysis for IT Centers existing in the region and based on the findings will propose a model for an IT Center and its institutional set up. All these inputs will be consolidated in a Strategy document for establishing the IT Center which will be discussed with stakeholders and relevant authorities.

This initiative entails preparing a strategy for establishing a Youth Center in Veles. The strategy will be prepared in a participative process ensuring inclusion of most relevant stakeholders as well as marginalized and vulnerable groups. By utilizing the “learning by doing” approach, the local authorities (responsible to establish the Youth Center) will visit the existing Youth Center in Kumanovo to be exposed to a highly functional practice. Taking into consideration that Veles adopted the Strategy for Smart City (first ever in the country), the creation of a Youth Center would directly contribute to the implementation of the Smart City Strategy and put the needs of the young population at the core of the development efforts undertaken by Veles municipality.

The initiative addresses the country obligation deriving from the International Convention for the Protection of Animals and European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals (Strasbourg ETS no.125). More specifically, the initiative will entail the conduct of a detailed analysis of the opinions of the residents from Kisela Voda municipality about creating a pet/dog recreational park. The findings of the research and recommended proposals for establishing and operating such park will be presented in a conference involving relevant stakeholders, including local authorities and decision makers. It is expected that the results from this initiative will be included in the agenda of the local elections campaign in 2021.

Creating conditions for safe and environmentally friendly transport
This 2I aims to address the problem of high air pollution in the city of Skopje. The initiative will conduct a research aimed to identify key issues related to air pollution caused by the urban transport and its effects on health of the population. The findings from the research and the recommendations for reduction of air pollution will be prepared in a document that will be presented (hence gather further inputs) to representatives of civil society, businesses, local and regional governmental bodies, individuals etc. Once the recommendations for reduction of air pollution are finalized, they will be presented and broadly disseminated through informative materials and videos to inform and mobilize citizens to implement them.

This 2I has a two-fold objective. It will address lack of touristic offer in the municipality of Tetovo but not only. Having in mind the high air pollution in Tetovo, the initiative will explore the feasibility of introducing a touristic eco-train and transportation line. The eco-train will start in the Tetovo center (from the Colored Mosque) and continue for approx. 3.2km to Banjice, where the existing recreation center of Tetovo is located. The eco-train will encourage citizens to use the train (collective transportation) instead of individual cars, hence contribute in decreasing the air pollution in addition to increasing the tourism in the area. Through the public discussions and social media campaign, this 2I will introduce the idea of Eco-train to the citizens and will gather their opinions about such train line and the best options forward.

This initiative aims to raise the awareness about the pollution of the local Dragon river in municipality of Bitola.
